“A Journey To Action” News Clip
Part of this news clip is in Mandarin.
Kevin Liu – a member of the Richmond in 3D talks about how when he was in elementary and middle school, there was no body to talk to about bullying and how he felt there was no one there to help. But now, he has the opportunity and the strategies to help others deal with bullying.
A Journey To Action is a documentary that covers all the different community events, conferences and workshops that Richmond in 3D facilitate on bullying, discrimination, racism and diversity.
This documentary is part of a tool-kit and facilitator’s guide that is meant to be used as a resource for other teacher’s, youth workers and students to start their own projects.

I will post links to videos and websites that compliment the materials and topics to the workshops Diversity Basics, Cross-Cultural Conflict Resolution and Power and Privilege. Feel free to post comments and continue the discussion on this page. You can also email me stefanie@rmcs.bc.ca.

The first video link is the mockumentary Jaded. The film Jaded is part of a work for all series that the National Film Board of Canada put together. There are 11 films in the series that cover aspects of racism in the workplace.
http://www.nfb.ca/playlists/work-for-all/viewing/jaded/
This film was used during the diversity basic workshop and we asked participants to count how many discriminatory comments or actions were made. This film could also be viewed through power and privilege and how white privilege affects office dynamics.

The second clip is a skit done by This Hour has 22 minutes on racial profiling.
